Fanny Horowitz – DETERMINATION

Description

“I studied Economics, and I have a master’s degree in Business Administration. For many years, I worked in the Marketing and Branding fields until 2015, I followed my heart and made Art my only profession. My Artworks are in diverse techniques: figurative works in oil on canvas, etchings in assorted techniques, as well as collage works on paper, which combines paper scraps which I paint with magazine clippings and oil painting.Inspired by my advertising career, I refer to the impacts of modern communication technologies and modern means of communication on the identity and The Social Self of women in some of my oil Artworks.In my collages, I am inspired by the immigration processes I experienced as a child.

The association that comes to mind is of an infinite personal process of cut-and-paste, to which I naturally respond via mixed technique in the language of collage. I create a hybrid multicultural reality, in which cultural symbols, architecture, and figures from different times and places coexist harmoniously with my personal dreams. I combine all these in imaginary living rooms in many of the works, a reminder of all the many apartments I lived in.
I live and work in Tel Aviv, Israel.”
