Michal Shelly’s works are not focused on any specific lifetime. Still, they are expressive of a general philosophy of life, an individual totality that she displays in its entirety on the canvas, in each painting anew. Every work endows experiences accumulated over numerous years with a plastic expression. They do not seek to reconstruct reality but rather to stimulate in the viewer an emotional experience language of abstraction and process of creation broadcast emotional and mental restraint. In contrast, the lines and spots that whirl on the canvases conversely evoke intense emotional storms – expressing the tension between her and the painting as a search space. This type of searching causes the viewers of her works to become active searchers seeking the meaning of what is visible in the workspace.
